[ She actually looks like she thinks about it for a moment, but--no. It's too dangerous. It's better to drop off the grid, shake them off her trail, if she's even left one. She'd sooner do that than risk getting anyone else in trouble with the crooks of Maurtia Falls and the government.

This is nothing she isn't used to, right? ]

[ She falls silent; she hasn't really had the time or energy to really think things through, yet. All she knows is that her default reaction is hide; it's the only thing that makes sense to her right now. ]

Maybe no one, yet, but I can't keep troubling you all like this.

Hey. You're not troubling us. Not at all. We all care about you- me, Ken, Bull, Peter. All of us. Wanting to make sure you're safe is just part of that.

That's the thing--no one should care.

[ It honestly just slips out, what she says, and how she says it--this is new territory for her. She should know better than to let people start caring. Because in the end, they can be loose ends or worse, they can be worried about her. When they shouldn't even know she exists. ]

[ He honestly just stares at her for a moment ]

You don't have to go through your life alone. Maybe it's easier that way, but honestly, is it better? I don't think so.

It wasn't easy making sure no one in the galaxy knew about you, either, you know.

[ But she sighs in resignation. ]

But I see your point. I'm sorry, Charlie.

Just think about it. This house is more than big enough for all of us. We could convert the basement into a living space so you could still have your privacy.

I can't grow plants in a basement.

[ She likes having flowers around, okay. ]

Whatever you decide just... please don't disappear.

[ This is when she finally moves her arms to wrap them around Charlie, returning the hug. ]

It's probably better if I do, but--I'll try not to.

[ He pulls back to try and get a look at her face under the hood. ]

Just don't disappear. I mean it.

[ When normally she might turn or otherwise shy away from someone trying to get a look at her face, she doesn't budge from Charlie. He's already seen her face, after all. And by her own accord, even. ]

You know those mean the same thing for me, right?

[ Forgive the beating around the bush, Charlie. It's how she manages to stay so mysterious, although her lame attempt at humor is betrayed by the tired, conflicted expression on her face. ]

[ He reaches up to cup her cheek. The look on his face is solemn and sad at the edges. ]

There's a difference. Trust me.

[ She places one hand on Charlie's; the other pulls her hood back. It's okay, with Charlie. ]

Charlie... Disappearing is what I do.

[ He looks slightly alarmed at first- they're in the middle of the living room. Then he just heaves a sigh, shaking his head ]

I just... I want you to come back. That's all.

[ Truth be told, if someone were to come in, she'd either just pull the hood back up or go invisible. Right now, she'd much rather just be with her best friend here. ]

I haven't heard that in a while.

Do you want me to say it again? I'll say it as many times as it takes to get across the point that I care about you and actually want you around.

[ She'll just... move to give him another hug, now. Damn you, Charles. ]
