the marriage of true minds
WHO: Newton Geiszler, Hermann Gottlieb, AND YOU
WHERE: Alaska, courtesy of teleportation via Midnighter's apartment
WHEN: March 27th, evening
WHAT: A wedding. After all that's been happening this month, let's enjoy a nice evening of two constantly bickering nerds finally making good on the day they first met. It's not red, white, or purple... Safe for the whole family.
WARNINGS: Um. Nerds being Nerds.
NOTES: There are subthreads for the major events, but feel free to make your own or ping either youko/Hermann or me/Newt if you want something not listed.
Ceremony:
No matter what effort anyone--Kang, Newt himself, or a well-meaning guest--might have put into straightening up his suit and tie, by the time Newt walks down the aisle, his necktie is glaringly mis-tied. Hermann and Newt bicker over the tie, oblivious to the guests waiting on them until, finally, Hermann fixes it to satisfaction, and the ceremony resumes.
They exchange vows and rings with some nervousness and a fair amount of emotion. Hermann removes Newt's glasses, and they kiss...
And then, in an act of symbolism, they tear up the dividing line.
Two halves, one now connected whole.
Reception:
Please partake of the open bar during dinner, but try not to get too carried away. Before cake is served, there is champagne and the opportunity to give a toast. Feel free to embarrass yourself or the newlyweds with a toast. Gifts may be left on the table or presented to the newlyweds.
Newt does NOT shove the cake in Hermann's face when they cut the first slice...however much he is tempted and/or egged on.
After dinner, the dance floor opens up. The newlyweds dance their "first" dance as husbands. Hopefully no one is too terribly drunk. Newt and Hermann take some of this time to greet everyone and socialize.
At the end of the night, Newt--more than a wee bit drunk--commandeers a piano and attempts to play John Legend's All of Me. It's going great....UNTIL he starts to sing.
Hermann all but hauls him away by his ear and excuses them both.

"I can't say it's something I'd ever want to try myself. It's good to see you and Hermann happy, though, and I'm certainly enjoying this part of it." This part being food, music (even if some of it is far too sappy for his tastes), and drinks. "How are you feeling?"

But how is he feeling? Giddy, drunk on excitement, pleased with how it turned out, eager for tonight, warm and content and in love.
