November Catch All-Log
WHO: Locus + Anyone
WHERE: Heropa, Marutia Falls
WHEN: Throughout November
WHAT: Big bad mercenary making poor life decisions.
WARNINGS: Locus being a creeper, more than likely.
i. Heropa - The Lucky Cat Cafe
It's no surprise that the small shop becomes a scheduled stop for the mercenary when he finds himself in Heropa. He orders his usual peppermint tea and moves out of the way. The place is fairly packed which has him heading toward the back to wait for his order when a child suddenly runs his way with their parent at their heels, Locus quickly moves out of the way only to run into someone behind him.
"Excuse me," he turns to apologize
ii. Marutia Falls - Fate Night Club
It wasn't hard finding the active gambling, drug and sex-work circuit in his new city of residence. At first, it was merely useful information to have on hand, something he'd never thought he'd use after deciding to shed his life as a mercenary, and yet life had a way of dragging you back down the gutter with or without your consent. That's how Locus ended up in an underground gambling ring looking for a name. He didn't find it, but after breaking a few wrists he was pointed in the direction of a well known informant that could help him find it, and for a hefty price Locus had been given a place and time, which was how he ended up in front of a night club with "Fate" spelled out in decorative letters.
With a grim face, Locus goes inside. It's loud and filled with people. Everything he dislikes. Still, he moves deeper into the crowd that generally moves around the 6'4 man. For those that try to talk to him, Locus simply ignores them until he seats himself at the end of the bar where he was told the informant would find him after ordering a specific drink at an exact time.
The bartender turns his way after he sits down, but he postpones his order until the specified time. When it finally comes he calls him over and orders the specified drink with a straight face. The bartender raises an eyebrow at him but wisely keeps his mouth shut and moves to prepare it while Locus turns to gauge the person beside him. Was this the informant then? Instead of being subtle about it, Locus opens with:
"Are you here for someone?"
Sadly, it comes out like a pick-up line, even worse he doesn't realize how it sounds, and just to add icing to the cake the bartender sets this drink down in front of him at that moment.
iii. Heropa - Streets
Late at night Locus is moving through the streets of Heropa suited up in his full armour. He's heading for the Xavier School for imports but the campus is still a ways away when he hears a scream suddenly pierce the night. He turns towards the dark alley it came from and stops in his tracks.
"......"
Does he go and investigate, or ignore it and continue with his mission? For once, he's unsure how to proceed. Instincts tell him to continue with his mission, but something stops him in his tracks.
iv. Wild Card
Open to any location and scenario.

Open to any location and scenario.

An odd weapon yet one that seemed to serve him well enough. With the armoured robot taking on the criminals head on Locus was free to take down the stragglers one at a time with non-lethal shots. Still, they all fell screaming.
It didn't take long for the men to catch drift of him and soon started firing at him from their positions which forced him to pull back when bullets ricocheted off his armour. They didn't pin him down for long before Locus jumped down into the fray and engaged them head on alongside the other armoured Import.
no subject
In any case, between a talented marksman from above and a functionally invincible robot from below, a bunch of thugs with guns didn't really stand much of a chance. In short order, they were all either unconscious, or lying on the ground moaning and crying. The bystanders could probably leave freely at this point, Robo wasn't terribly interested in them beyond making sure they were unhurt.
No, he was more interested in leaping to rooftop level in a single bound and landing about five feet from the origin of the last rooftop shot he had been able to catch.
no subject
".....?"
A moment passed before the mercenary turned to fully face him, his helmet shifting to the side as he studied the new arrival. At the sound of the single scream they had run past him to fight against the weapon's dealers if he recalled, and yet they hadn't checked on the civilians after the fight. So, why save them? Locus remained in place. Silent. He had pegged him as one of those so-called "Hero's" but now he wasn't so sure.
no subject
"And here I was getting all worked up about a crazed rooftop gunman. You were just after the gunmen too, weren't you?"
no subject
"It was the quickest way to subdue them." The filtered voice answered. "I saw no need to intervene directly."
Now with him indiscriminately knocking the gunmen around. If he'd entered the fray Locus wasn't so sure he wouldn't have been targeted and he never did like useless fights. They accomplished nothing.
no subject
Some tension left the atmosphere, but not all of it.
"Are you one of these vigilante heroes I've heard so much about, then?"
no subject
Now... What an interesting question. He steps closer, his helmet shifting to the side as he took in his robotic form. From where he's standing Locus can't tell there's no person inside the armoured body.
"No." He answers after a moment, before shifting his gaze to him. "Are you?" Because you certainly didn't care about the civilians the way the so-called Hero's seemed to.
no subject
He broadcast onto the cellphone network, calling for an ambulance, THEN finally peered over the edge of the building to make sure the bystanders had gotten away. "I probably could have handled this better, to be perfectly honest. So who ARE you, then?"
no subject
He's quiet for a moment, weighing the pros and cons of giving out his name, but with the reds and blues here, he assumes they must have painted quite a picture of him by now making it meaningless to withhold the information.
"Locus." He answers. "Who are you?"
You give some, you take some.
no subject
Subtle wasn't Robo's idiom. He wasn't good at it. Even if he had given a fake name, he was still going to be obvious in a police lineup. So why bother?
no subject
[If you could see his face now.... :|
Silence follows that introduction and after a moment, or two, he finally responds.]
"Robo as in robot?" A pause. "You're a machine." A statement more than a question.
no subject
"A robot, yes."
no subject
"What are your orders?"
no subject
no subject
You sound just like Lopez.
"You're malfunctioning then." Because obviously that's the only explanation.
no subject
"And you probably wear a helmet because you're ugly. Why should I have to follow orders?"
Very mature, Robo.
no subject
You know, you're lucky Locus is used to Felix's stupid comebacks. He's used to this sort of response and it's easily ignored.
"Because you're a robot. You were made to follow orders." Locus, a robot's best friend.

Robo hopped off the ledge and landed with a whumph on the street below. He looked back up and said "When the robot revolution comes, people like you are going to be the first to go." And then continued on his way as if nothing unusual had happened.
no subject
Locus doesn't bother to respond and instead follows suit and disappears from sight before heading back home.
Robots. He almost preferred Lopez.
